Divorce case linked to top politician postponed

A divorce case involving former deputy public prosecutor Stanley Clement Augustin and his wife Nika Gee Siew Yee at a High Court here has been postponed.

A new date for the proceedings has yet to be fixed. Neither the parties nor their lawyers were present on Monday morning. The case was to be heard before Justice Datuk Siti Mariah Ahmad.

Augustin had applied for a divorce last year after alleging that his wife had an affair.

He had on Dec 7, 2015, made a Statutory Declaration (SD) claiming that his wife had engaged in an intimate relationship with a prominent political figure from Johor(name as Muhyiddin by RPK).

The SD claimed that Gee met the politician overseas and had received financial and material benefits from him.

The accused politician has, however, called the allegations slanderous, adding that it was ill-intentioned and unfounded.
